We have two main goals when it comes to eating protein. One is getting your daily amount of protein in for the day and the second is when to eat it to maximize muscle protein synthesis. The best times to eat protein would be upon waking, consume protein pre/post workout and prior to going to sleep. A fourth serving of protein can be ideal if someone is looking to keep each protein serving in the range os 30-50 grams.
Research has shown that there are benefits in lean muscle mass in people who consume protein pre- bedtime. Remembering these are suggestions you also need to take into account your schedule and eating the way that works for you. As always your first goal is to hit you nutrition and macro goal.
