We talk about nutrition and your calorie goal, but do you think about this with the beverages you consume or just with the food you eat? Being mindful of your nutrition is not only what you eat but what you drink too.
Here are some examples of calories in popular drinks.
Coke Zero- 0-5 calories
Black Coffee- 0-5 calories
Orange Juice- 110 calories
Whole Milk- 150 calories
Coke- 140 calories
Champagne- 95 calories
Red Wine- 125 calories
Starbucks Caramel Frappe- 370 calories
A quick way to cut down your calorie intake is to switch to “zero” or “diet” versions. It is also important to remember that liquid calories are not as filling as solid calories (fruits, veggies, lean meats etc.)
When focusing on your calorie intake and nutrition make sure you are aware of the calories you are drinking. Like always moderation is key so you can have milk or creamer in your coffee. You can have a glass of red wine in the evening. You can have a seltzer at your summer get together just be aware and take it into consideration when you look at your nutrition goal
