– Exercise can boost the production of serotonin.  Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate your mood and cognitive function.

– You can boost your endorphins. Exercise can give you a short-term burst of endorphins, chemicals in       the brain that block pain and produce a natural high.

– Many types of exercise can lower inflammation, which is a potential cause of depression.

– Exercise can be an effective and healthy antidote to stress. Research has linked stress to depression perhaps owning to the body’s inflammatory stress response.
